Brand Ambassadors are a key part of many watchmakers’ marketing strategies and with good reason. The correct person can dramatically shape the perception of a brand and in doing so make a significant contribution to sales, and so it comes as no surprise that some have developed long-standing, mutually beneficial associations with their brands.
Of course, brands also recognize the need to add fresh faces from time to time and so it has been announced today that Australian actor Simon Baker will become the newest Longines Ambassador of Elegance, joining the likes of British actress Kate Winslet and tennis legends Andre Agassi and Stephanie Graff.
The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Aussie star of the “The Mentalist” TV show, will be officially presented at a Gala event to be held this Saturday, 16th June, to celebrate the running of the “Prix de Diane Longines” horse race, at the Chantilly racecourse just outside Paris. He will be attending the race on Sunday and will no doubt be helping out judging the “Mademoiselle de Diane” contest for the most elegant lady of the day.
At the same event, to celebrate the 180th Anniversary of the founding of Longines, the new Saint-Imier collection will also be on show to visitors.
It appears that Paris is most certainly the place to be this weekend.
