It’s shaping up to be a very exciting week here on the The Watch Lounge. Now, I know what you’re thinking, isn’t every week an exciting week? Well, yes, that is true but you’ll just have to take my word for it that this one is extra special!
Going from one extreme to another in our in-depth coverage of the Geneva Time Exhibition we today turn the spotlight on another of my favorite independent watchmakers; Laurent Ferrier. No more than a blip on the horological radar a few short years ago, Ferrier announced their arrival in emphatic form in 2010 with the unveiling of the highly complicated Galet Classique Tourbillon Double Balance Spring. That watch went on to win the Men’s Watch category of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève that year and things just simply haven’t been the same since.
Today, as we continue our in-depth look at some of the brands that will be exhibiting this year at the Geneva Time Exhibition, we turn our attention to Hautlence.
Whilst from the outside it may seem easy to classify them as another of those ‘just-under-the-radar’ brands that could potentially go either way, closer examination reveals a young-ish brand characterized by a surprisingly colorful past that has paved the way for a no less surprising but far more structured future.

As the count-down to the Geneva Time Exhibition gets underway, we take a closer look at one of the big name independent watch-makers who will be exhibiting this year, Peter Speake-Marin. After taking a break from the show last year, the brand will once again use the GTE as a platform to unveil its new creations for 2013.
