Ashton trained at the British School of Watchmaking in Manchester where he obtained his WOSTEP diploma and now runs Kosmos Horology in Melbourne, Australia, specializing in mechanical timepieces along with the manufacturing of obsolete watch parts.
Ikepod Opens First Pop-Up Monobrand Store In Paris
Here’s something cool, designer Marc Newson’s funky watch company – Ikepod – has teamed up with watch retailer Antoine de Macedo to open up its very first pop-up, monobrand store in Paris. The temporary store, adjacent to de Macedo’s boutique and workshop on the left bank of the city, will officially open the doors to its 50 square meter space on June 19, 2011 and will remain open until 30 July, 2011.
Speake-Marin ‘Vegas Ten’ For The Purist’s 10 Year Anniversary
As some of you may already be aware the PuristS on-line community is celebrating their ten year anniversary later this year in Las Vegas and have invited a number of highly respected watch-makers to create exclusive pieces especially for this event. Mr. Race Missing In Action – Presumed…?
Mr. Race, Mr. Green’s sporty younger brother has gone missing in action after competing in the 20th Anniversary race of the French “Tour Auto” earlier this month. Known for his charm and striking good looks Mr. Race was always an instant hit with the ladies. That is why it came as no surprise when news came through that he was last sighted pulling over his Ford GT40 to pick up an attractive female hitchhiker with an unusual spider’s web tattoo on her shoulder. Rumor has it they were headed for Spain but no one has seen or heard from the couple since.

Pre-Basel World 2011: Marc Jenni JJJ
We first came across the up-and-coming, young watch-maker Marc Jenni last year when he presented his remarkable new timepiece, the Prologue, at Basel World 2010. An ACHI Candidate, the Prologue was Jenni’s inaugural timepiece under his own name as an independent watch-maker and featured the world’s first lateral winding mechanism.
