Unless you have been living under a rock for the past couple of months you would undoubtedly be aware of the mass devastation caused in the state of Queensland, Australia by severe flooding and cyclones. A number of charities and government programs have been set up to help raise funds for those affected and now Brisbane based Define Watches are doing their part too, with the announcement of a special, one-off auction to be held later this month.
Veteran readers of The Watch Lounge will remember Define Watches from our interview a few years ago with the company’s founders, Peter Petzold and Lydia Dalle Nogare (if you missed it, read it here). An Australian based wholesaler who imports and distributes high-end, niche market watches, Define has built quite a reputation for themselves with their excellent service and keen eye for good quality brands.
Like so many other business in Queensland though, the company has felt the impact of the destruction caused by the natural disasters and refuses to stand by helplessly and do nothing. To that end Define has announced that they will be auctioning several timepieces between February 21st to 27th 2011 through a ( specially created website).
The auction features eight exceptional timepieces, including a handmade, personalized Jörg Schauer – Edition 10 white dial and an Armin Strom Blue Chip Power Reserve, both with reserves well below their RRP.
All proceeds from the auctions will be donated to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal so here is your chance to grab a great deal and contribute to a good cause at the same time.
A full list of the pieces available can be viewed here. Good luck and remember to be generous when you’re bidding, it’s for a very worthy cause!
