To celebrate their long-standing relationship with retail partner The Hour Glass, horological virtuosos MB&F have just unveiled a very special edition of their hugely popular HM3 Frog. Inspired by the brightly colored Dendrobates Leucomelas – aka the Poison Dart Frog – this latest addition, although not quite so colorful as its namesake, will lay patiently in wait on your wrist, subtly drawing in its next victim with its alluring golden shimmer.
In spite of its exotic name though, the HM3 Poison Dart Frog is probably one of the more subdued variants of the original, and is fast becoming one of my personal favorites. The distinctive high-tech zirconium case we’ve come to know and love so well is now camouflaged under a sleek, black layer of PVD, which contrasts superbly with the 18k gold screws and animated 22k gold rotor.
If you want one though you better not waste time disguising your intentions as the HM3 Poison Dart Frog is limited edition of just 10 pieces, each one available exclusively from The Hour Glass. No word on pricing but expect to pay a little north of US$100,000.
Update: Pricing confirmed as SGD129,700 (approx US$104,000) with all 10 pieces only available in Singapore.
