TWL’s Swiss Correspondent
Ian Ellery
Ian is a technology radio presenter in Geneva, Switzerland. He is a collector of vintage watches, a regular attendee at the Antiquorum auctions, SIHH and as many other watch presentations as he can bluff his way into. Working in Geneva has allowed him to meet and interview some fantastic watch people and he hopes to continue with many more.
According to Ian the 18th century farm house in neighboring France in which he lives is a bit draughty but has a fantastic view of Mt. Blanc. To download the latest broadcast of his show go to the World Radio website.
TWL’s French Correspondent
Olivier Muller
Half Swiss, half French, Olivier has been raised in the world of haute horlogerie & luxury watches right from the cradle. Now living in Versailles, Olivier still crosses the Jura many times a year, enjoying unique manufactures all along the Vallée de Joux.
Personally speaking, Olivier has a specific crush on Thomas Prescher, Breitling, Speake-Marin, but has enjoyed professional relationships with brands such as Audemars-Piguet, amongst others. Independent journalist and communication advisor, Olivier is our correspondent in France.
Oh, by the way, Olivier also enjoys Speyside Single Malts!
TWL’s UK Correspondent
Anish Bhatt
Having decided a Pharmacology degree wasn’t really for him, Anish decided to jump head first into the luxury watch market. Over a decade later he is still here as captivated as ever. Originally from London but a frequent traveller worldwide, he has amassed a great degree of knowledge in many aspects of the horology business which he hopes to convey through us…the MS spell checker is in for a tough time!.
Anish also runs the popular and egotistically (his words not ours!) titled Tumblr watch blog Watch Anish.
TWL’s Asia Correspondent
Ming Thein
Ming is a physicist by training, has never worked in that field, and constantly stirs up trouble at local horological gatherings. One third of the time he dreams about the watches he’d like to own, another third he spends designing movements that might or might not work, and the rest of the time he can be found behind a camera living vicariously through somebody else’s collection or trying to make a living.
He lives in Kuala Lumpur, fights the eternal battle between more lenses or more watches, and additional photography work can be found at www.mingthein.com and www.flickr.com/mingthein
TWL’s Social Media Expert
Jonathan Hochman
Jon was born in Argentina, raised in Canada and the United States, and resides in New York City. His interest in haute horlogerie started at an early age, leading him to become the watch buyer for a local jewelry store. Since then, the combination of technical precision and visual perfection of luxury watches has driven his passion, while digital marketing and social media has driven his work.
TWL’s U.S. Correspondent
Ben Walters
Ben Walters lives in the Northeast United States and is a classically trained watchmaker specializing in mechanical watches. He enjoys a small and eclectic watch collection, and is always avidly collecting watch company literature. Ben follows intently the introduction of new sciences and materials into Haute Horlogerie.
Ben also enjoys photography and air cooled Porsches!
TWL’s Canadian Correspondent
Marco Gagliano
Marco runs the website for the Montreal watch boutique / lounge, Matt Baily. He has access to watches and insider information from some of the world’s leading young companies like Bell & Ross, Alpina, Frédérique Constant, and U-Boat.
He is fascinated by details and can often be found staring at timepieces from all angles like a possessed fool. He has worked with luxury watches for six years and is still amazed on a regular basis by the amount of innovation and history that is tied to the trade.
