New From Linde Werdelin: The SpidoLite II Titanium Blue

SpidoLite II Titanium Blue

It’s already been a huge year for burgeoning young brand Linde Werdelin (well, young-ish, relatively speaking) and what better way to cap it off then with the release of the first of three new series of the SpidoLite II, aptly named Titanium Blue!

Limited to just 75 pieces the original skeletonised titanium case has undergone some subtle modifications to make it even more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. One change that isn’t so subtle however is the stunning electric blue dial, complete with bright orange accents.

Comprised of two separate skeletonized layers, the unusual design creates a sense of depth that is only further magnified by the contrasting color schemes. This isn’t only for aesthetic effect however as the clever use of contrast (as opposed to just color) also greatly improves legibility.

Driving the SpidoLite II Titanium Blue is the LW 04 caliber 2251, custom-made for LW by Concepto, an independent movement manufacture based in La Chaux de Fonds. Keeping with the theme of the piece all the steel screws in the movement have been blued to match the same color as the hands and the black rotor, which is visible through the sapphire case-back, bears a blue LINDE WERDELIN icon.

As I mentioned before the SpidoLite II Titanium Blue is available in a limited series of just 75 pieces, each retailing for CHF 10,400 exclusive of VAT (approx. US$11,150). They will be available from December 2012 from any LW authorized retailer around the world or you can buy yours directly from
