SIHH 2010 is here! Can’t Make It? Don’t Worry, We Can Help!

Can it be that time already? That’s right watch lovers, the 20th Annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie is getting set to kick off on Monday! This exclusive event brings together some of the best names in the industry, providing an exceptional platform for the brands that participate to introduce their stunning new creations. As an additional bonus the SIHH has been pleased to announce the arrival of two new, and very highly regarded, exhibitors; Greubel Forsey and Richard Mille. The latter of which will be presenting for the first time the mesmerizing RM 017 Ultra Thin Tourbillon pictured above!
Continuing on the development of the highly successful rectangular case first launched with the RM 016, the RM 017 Tourbillon will set new standards on the horological scene with its ultra thin case enclosing a tourbillion movement. Whilst retaining the same case proportions of its predecessor, with a total height comprising a mere 8.70 mm, the RM 017’s manual winding movement will debut as one of the thinnest tourbillon constructions ever created.
This new masterpiece will be only one of the many exciting announcements made at SIHH this year. In total 19 brands will be presenting their new models for the year and the list of exhibitors is impressive to say the least:
- A.Lange & Söhne
- Alfred Dunhill
- Audemars Piguet
- Baume & Mercier
- Cartier
- Girard-Perregaux
- Greubel Forsey
- IWC
- Jaeger-LeCoultre
- JeanRichard
- Montblanc
- Officine Panerai
- Parmigiani Fleurier
- Piaget
- Ralph Lauren Watch and Jewelry Co
- Richard Mille
- Roger Dubuis
- Vacheron Constantin
- Van Cleef & Arpels
That’s the good news, now here’s the bad. Traditionally the SIHH has been an event that is open only to the trade and limited members of the press. As such, it is not possible to buy a ticket to attend this event. Fear not though, all is not lost. Below we have some suggestions on how you can still make sure you keep up with all the announcements and excitement of one of the industry’s most important annual events!

A. Lange & Söhne
Demonstrating their embrace of on-line technology and the importance of communicating with their customers, German watch maker A. Lange & Söhne will for the first time blog live from SIHH for the full five days.
The intention is to grant enthusiasts an unprecedented level of access to their brand and to demonstrate their commitment to this, all the key members of the Lange team will be present and ready to take your questions and answer them to the best of their abilities via an ongoing Q&A session. This means that you can ask questions directly of the manufacturer whilst their new novelties are being presented at the show!

This extraordinary event will take place in English on 19 January starting at 4:15 pm Central European Time for a duration of approximately 30 minutes.
