If the good folks at Vacheron Constantin didn’t already have your attention they certainly will now with the unveiling of the sublime Harmony Chronograph.

The Harmony Chronograph

Vacheron Constantin turns 260 this year and to celebrate the brand has created the slick looking Harmony collection, featuring not one but two extremely attractive chronographs. The big news is of course the Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Complication Chronograph, which at just 8.4 0 mm thick takes the crown for being the world’s thinnest self-winding split-second chronograph.

Now understandably everyone wants to strap one of those bad boys on their wrist but given that only 10 pieces will be made and competition is bound to be fierce the chances of it actually happening are slim to none. Despair not though because thankfully there is another option, the slightly less limited Harmony Chronograph.

Although not quite as thin as its elder sibling, the Harmony Chronograph is still highly desirable in my opinion. A modern-day reinterpretation of one of the first chronograph wristwatches made by Vacheron Constantin all the way back in 1928, the 18k pink gold cushion-shaped case and old-school style dial give it that chic vintage feel but with the comfort of knowing it comes complete with a top of the range, in-house movement from one of the best names in business.

The attractive dial displays the hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, along with a power-reserve indicatior. In tribute to the 1928 model and to historical medical watches, the Harmony Chronograph also features a pulsometric graduation painted in deep red around the rim of the dial which can be used to calculate the pulse on a 30-beat scale.

The Harmony Chronograph is powered by the new manual wound Calibre 3300 offering mono-pusher chronograph functionality complete with 65-hour power reserve. Comprised of some 252 parts the movement has of course been nicely finished and bears the Hallmark of Geneva stamp, with the hand-engraved balance cock a particular stand out.

As with all models in the Harmony collection, the Harmony Chronograph will be a limited edition with 260 individually numbered pieces being produced. Unfortunately I do not have official pricing as yet but will update in due course.

In the meantime check out Vacheron Constantin for more.
