Speake-Marin Immortality

Regular visitors to The Watch Lounge will no doubt be familiar with both the names Speake-Marin and Ming Thein. The former is an exceptionally gifted independent watchmaker whose timepieces we have featured numerous times here on the site, whilst the latter is a superbly talented photographer who’s work, funnily enough, we have also featured on the site (here and here)! Now, for the first time, we have the opportunity to present the two together, in the form of Thein’s stunning photos of the one-of-a-kind Immortality piece by Speake-Marin.

Immortality
I’m going to keep the words to a minimum for this one and let the photos tell the story (you can thank me later). By way of background however ‘Immortality’ was specially commissioned for the Asian market to commemorate the current lunar year of the dragon and is a piece unique. The stunning solid silver dial has been  hand-engraved by none other than master engraver Kees Engelbarts and features an incredibly detailed dragon.

As you can see in the photos the attention to detail is sublime, truly showcasing the exceptional talents of all involved. It really is a work of art.
