Xetum Launches All-Black Tyndall PVD

San Francisco based Xetum have just released an all-black version of their extremely popular Tyndall timepiece called the Tyndall PVD. This is the first time the brand has experimented with PVD coatings and it really has dramatically changed the look and feel of the watch. I still can’t decide whether I like it better than the original or not, but one thing is sure, this is one cool looking timepiece!
Back In Black
Like the original the PVD Tyndall is powered by a Swiss made, elaboree-grade ETA 2895-2 automatic movement, however for the PVD model the engraved rotor has also been done in black, which is a nice extra touch. The stainless steel 40mm case has received a matte black PVD treatment and is paired up with a black dial and black leather strap. Whether the brand has any plans to make a limited run with the special edition carbon fiber dial remains to be seen, however I for one really hope that they do.

As always with Xetum pricing is sensible and actually represents excellent value for money. Priced at US$1,495 the Tyndall PVD will only cost you US$100 more than the original and can be pre-ordered now with shipping expected to start in late October.
If you would like a more in-depth review of the Tyndall we got ‘hands-on’ with one here, and were very impressed to say the least.
The Final Word
At US$1,500 the Tyndall PVD is a great buy. The style is unique, the quality of construction top-rate and the cool factor is simply through the roof. If you’re looking for something a little different from what all your friends are wearing I highly recommend you take a closer look at this burgeoning young brand.
