So by now you would have heard that one of the watches everyone’s talking about at this year’s Baselworld is the new Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in steel. The big news of course is that the iconic chronograph now sports a black cerachrom bezel. Now this may not seem like that big a deal to ordinary folks like you and I but it’s definitely gotten Rolex fans into a lather. Read on to find out why.
Today we’re taking a quick look at the newly announced Edge Double Barrel from Armin Strom, a kick ass watch from one of our under-the-radar favorites. Intended as something of a statement piece, the Edge Double Barrel will be making its presence felt on the wrist in more ways than one and, Armin Strom hopes, help convey the brand’s growing sense of confidence in the unique aesthetic it has pioneered. Sounds like a tall order; read on to find out if the Edge Double Barrel is up to the challenge.
Baselworld 2016 will be opening its doors to the public in just a few days and there is one brand in particular that I am really keen to visit; Angelus. Ok, to be fair there are many brands I am keen to visit but Angelus definitely ranks high on the list. Making its official re-entry into the world of watch-making last year with the insanely cool U10 Tourbillon Lumiere, the brand promised there were even more exciting things to come. Judging by the U30 Tourbillon Rattrapante, Angelus plans to deliver on that promise this year.
The Omega Speedmaster is arguably one of the most recognisable mechanical sports watches in the world. As such, whenever the brand decides to launch a new variation of this classic model it’s kind of important they get it right. Fortunately for us, they usually do and the new Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Chronograph Master Chronometer due to be officially unveiled at Baselworld later this week is no exception.
HYT Watches may have just unveiled my favorite version yet of its popular Skull watch, the HYT Skull Bad Boy. Dressed all in black – literally head to toe – the HYT Skull Bad Boy even features a new black liquid for the time zone indication, quite a deviation from the bright colors we are used to seeing. The watch is not due to be officially launched until next month at Baselworld but fortunately we can give you a quick sneak preview now.
