For the past week or so I have been fortunate enough to spend some hands-on time with the new URWERK UR-105 T-Rex. Unveiled at SIHH earlier this year as part of URWERK’s inaugural attendance at the event, the UR-105 T-Rex is a distinctive looking piece to say the least.
URWERK was one of just nine independent watch brands making their debut at SIHH this year and although the company didn’t unveil any major new models they did deliver a couple of very nice variations, specifically the UR-105 T-Rex and the EMC Time Hunter.
URWERK has decided it’s time to close the chapter on another of its multi-award winning timepieces, in this case the EMC. It’s a sad occasion to be sure but one that also signifies that the brand is officially freeing up time and resources to focus on new and no doubt exciting developments. It’s not all bad news though, as in true URWERK style, the brand is celebrating the milestone in spectacular style with the unveiling at SalonQP of one final, awesome limited edition! Presenting the EMC Pistol.
Last month URWERK unveiled the brand’s first ever ladies watch, the UR-106 Lotus, proving once and for all that I don’t really know what I’m talking about. Ok, so maybe that last part is slightly unfair but when URWERK first hinted at Baselworld earlier this year that it was working on a ladies watch, I must admit I was sceptical. You don’t need to search far on The Watch Lounge to know that I am a huge fan of the brand and its highly innovative approach to watchmaking but everyone has their limits and I honestly thought URWERK might have finally bitten off more than it could chew. I was wrong.
Summer is upon us and that means it’s time to throw a little color into the mix. To help get you started we’ve pulled together 3 watches that will help brighten up any outfit.
