Jaeger-LeCoultre is not what I would generally consider a young man’s brand. That’s not a criticism mind you, more of a personal feeling based on anecdotal observations.
Meet the Parmigiani Tonda 1950 Tourbillon. Not a new watch per se – it made its official debut last year – but definitely one worthy of your attention.
For the past week or so I have been fortunate enough to spend some hands-on time with the new URWERK UR-105 T-Rex. Unveiled at SIHH earlier this year as part of URWERK’s inaugural attendance at the event, the UR-105 T-Rex is a distinctive looking piece to say the least.
Parmigiani Fleurier is one of those impossibly cool brands that always seems to fly just under the radar, consistently delivering knock out pieces without the usual fanfare of much larger brands. The latest example of this comes in the form of the new Tonda Chronor Anniversaire, launched at SIHH in celebration of the company’s 20th Anniversary, which boasts an in-house movement with a fully integrated chronograph. Not to mention the fact that it looks amazing.
Last year a small Austrian watchmaker by the name of Habring² celebrated its 10th Anniversary with the launch of a simple looking watch called Felix. At the time I remembered thinking ‘ten years is a pretty significant milestone, surely they want something a little more flashy to mark the occasion?’ The thing is, the husband and wife founders of Habring² don’t really do ‘flashy’. Instead, they prefer something a little more substantive. How refreshing is that?
