Rolex Ref 6263 “Paul Newman” Daytona Sells for $231,750
Everyone loves a good auction, especially when there is a bit of excitement in the room thanks to the presence of a particularly desirable piece. In New York last week that piece was a rare, original owner, Rolex Ref. 6263 Paul Newman Daytona in Steel, complete with panda dial, which sold for a whopping US$231,750. Not surprisingly the team at Antiquorum – the organizers of the auction – were extremely pleased with the outcome

Armin Strom One Week Skeleton
Back in the modern day meanwhile the talented team over Professional Watches has put together a gorgeous write-up on the new One Week Skeleton watch from Armin Strom. Seriously, this one is worth checking out for the pictures alone! The One Week Skeleton contains Armin Strom’s first fully in-house manufactured skeleton movement and really is quite an impressive timepiece. Attention to detail is evident everywhere in the finishing of this movement and really highlights the brand’s flair for this type of work.

Cesium 133 – The World’s First Atomic Wristwatch
In 2013 news first surfaced that American company Bathy’s Hawaii had embarked on a journey to make the world’s first atomic wristwatch. Fast forward a year and the Cesium 133 (as the watch is called) has now progressed to the stage where it has been launched on Kickstarter to help raise the funds to make it a reality. At the time of writing the project has already well-exceeded its initial target of US$42,000 and there are still 25 days to go!

Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic 1958
Jaeger-LeCoultre launched its new Geophysic 1958 collection last week, the latest re-interpretation of one its iconic original collections, which as you might have guessed was first released in 1958. Oozing style and sophistication, these vintage-style timepieces are sure to be hit with watch enthusiasts everywhere. MCT Sequential 2 S200 Hands On
Meanwhile over on The Watch Lounge last week we spent some time getting hands on with the new Sequential 2 S200 from MCT Watches. Officially unveiled a couple of weeks ago at Baselworld, this stylish new timepiece had many people questioning whether it was an evolution or a revolution for the brand.
