At Baselworld earlier this year HYT Watches introduced five new pieces to their collection. What they didn’t reveal though was the ice cold H1 Iceberg.

The H1 Iceberg

Arriving just in time for summer the H1 Iceberg has quickly become my new favorite from the brand, thanks to its fresh look and eye-catching style. Following in the footsteps of some of the other major brands this year (such as Audemars Piguet) HYT has given the H1 the full white and blue treatment and I have to say it looks awesome.

Presented in the familiar 48.8mm case, this time made from titanium with brushed, shot-peened and satin-finished surfaces, the H1 Iceberg is perhaps the most eye-catching watch from HYT yet, and that’s saying a lot! As you can see in the photos the dial is all white, with a contrasting grey hour dial and grey minute dial, grey indexes and numerals, all mixed in with some very subtle blue highlights.

Although this may seem a bit in your face at first, I actually find that the white dial with the grey and blue contrast really make the dial of the H1 Iceberg quite legible, perhaps even more so than other models. The real showstopper though of course is the gorgeous blue color of the liquid time-display, which stands out a mile away against the white backdrop and will have everyone in the room staring at your wrist.

The back side of the watch is much the same, with the complex hand-wound movement also finished in white. The bridges of the movement have been hand-chamfered and adorned with Côtes de Genève, whilst touches of gold provide just the right level of contrast to keep things interesting.

The H1 Iceberg is paired with a white rubber strap, which I have to say looks and feels great on the wrist even with a shirt and jacket. It is also available with a blue gummy alligator strap if you would like to add a bit more color although personally I prefer the fresh, summery feel of the all-white look.

Limited to just 50 pieces worldwide the H1 Iceberg will retail for about US$60,000 with the first pieces expected to be available some time next month.
