Jean Richard Aeroscope Arsenal FC

Arsenal FC fans have something to cheer about this week with the unveiling of two new JeanRichard watches dedicated to their football club.

Arsenal FC

For those who hadn’t heard the news already JeanRichard announced in January that it had become the Global Partner as well as maker of the “Official Watch” of the emblematic London football club Arsenal FC of the English Premier League.

At the time the Swiss watchmaker promised to unveil a limited edition “Arsenal” watch in the near future, which is exactly what happened this past Friday at Baselworld, with JeanRichard unveiling not one but two timepieces to celebrate this new partnership.

Fortunately I happened to be in the right place at the right time and was able to spend some hands-on time with both models.

Aeroscope Arsenal FC Limited Edition

This limited edition Aeroscope Chronograph is for die-hard Arsenal FC fans. Only 250 pieces will be produced and each one loudly and proudly proclaims its allegiance to the Gunners.

Presented in a 44mm sand-blasted black DLC-coated titanium case with matching titanium bezel engraved and filled with red painting this particular Aeroscope certainly attracts attention on the wrist. The honeycomb stamped dial has been finished in Arsenal FC red, whilst the Gunners logo can be seen in the sub-dial at 3 o’clock keeping track of the small seconds.

Providing the power is the automatic JR66 movement with a power reserve of around 42 hours. The dial displays the hours, minutes, seconds and date, as well as offering full chronograph functionality.

Finished on a black or red rubber strap complete with black DLC-coated titanium buckle, the Aeroscope Arsenal FC Limited Edition is for those fans who like to wear their hearts on their sleeve, on in this case their wrists!

Terrascope Arsenal FC Special Edition

The second watch is the Terrascope Arsenal FC. Unlike its sibling this model is a special edition not a limited edition, so production will not be restricted. Which is a good thing too as this is a very handsome looking watch.

Far more subdued than the Aeroscope, the Terrascope only makes subtle references to its love for Arsenal FC. Presented in a polished and vertically satin-finished 44mm steel case, the satin-finished grey dial is brought to life by contrasting red indices and hands.

The Gunners logo has been printed at six o’clock, providing an understated but clear indication of where the wearer’s loyalties lay.

The Terrascope Arsenal FC Special Edition is powered by the automatic JR60 movement, which offers a 38-hour power reserve. The dial indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and date, making it the perfect companion for weekdays at the office or weekends at the stadium.

I am currently waiting for official pricing for both models and will update the article as soon as I receive confirmation.

In the meantime please check out the JeanRichard website for more details.
